Early in the night, members and guests were hesitant to participate in our crate stacking competition during last week’s Memorial Day Mixer. Most folks weren’t even sure how it worked. “What is this?” was pretty much the common question from 6-7PM.
Luckily, Kurtis, our Head Routesetter, was here to give a proper introduction to the newbies (and the occasional novice) climbing in and around the facility and act as the de-facto crate-giver.
After that, we had to turn eager participants away. The key to crate stacking? You need the delicate combination of flexibility, patience, and a sense of calm. So how high did they go (and how gnarly was their fall)? The GIFs tell the real story!
