Giving Back: BKB's Collecting City Harvest Food Donations

Nov 25, 2015Brooklyn Boulders

Bring your non-perishables to Brooklyn Boulders from
Tuesday, November 24 to Sunday, November 29

As a part of the holiday cheer and season, Brooklyn Boulders continues to give back: we’re collecting non-perishable food items for pickup by City Harvest, a non profit organization that helps stock 500 soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across New York City.

The Immediate Impact Of Your Donations:

Over 20% of New Yorkers are currently living in poverty– it’s a struggle to afford basic needs, like rent, medical care, and not to mention food.

City Harvest helps feed nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers who face poverty and hunger each year (the number for poverty is 1.7 million).
They collect up to 150,000 pounds of food every day.
It costs City Harvest only 26 cents to rescue & deliver 1 pound of food.

Can’t stop by? Donate another way!
Every $1 helps City Harvest rescue and deliver 4 pounds of good food. Donate to the Daily News Virtual Food Drive here or start your own virtual food drive to encourage family, friends, and colleagues to stand with City Harvest in the fight against hunger.
