The Rock Gym by Fergus Sullivan

Almost every day after school my dad, brother, and I go to the Brooklyn Boulders in Somerville, Massachusetts. Every day, I have more and more fun while I try to get up new and interesting walls. I think you should go, whether to go to yoga or listen to didgeridoo.
At the rock gym they have very nice employees. They are ready to help you with almost every need. The employees are not only helpful to you; they’re always there to encourage you whether by yelling, “YOU’VE ALMOST GOT IT!” or “THAT LITTLE RED HAND HOLD WILL HELP YOU… NO!…THE OTHER ONE!” They are also nice to talk to and maybe empathize with you or talk about the newest movie.
This rock gym has almost everything you might want to climb. Apart from bouldering, the rock gym has… well… rock climbing. They have 25,000 square feet of climbing and bouldering. On those walls, they have lead climbing, a specialized version of climbing in which you hook into one carabiner and then the next carabiner and the next and the next… until you get to the top. You also need a person to ease you down. Then there is top roping, the thing most people think of when they think of climbing, where there is an anchor at the top with a rope leading to a person at the bottom who catches you when fall. Also there are auto-belays that ease you slowly to the bottom.
Rock climbing, believe it or not, is a amazingly healthy sport or hobby. It improves the cardiovascular system that consists of the heart, veins and arteries. Weight loss is another positive benefit of rock climbing. Also your arm, back, and chest muscles strengthen considerably because you are always pulling yourself up to the next handhold.
Don’t let the name deceive you. Apart for climbing, Brooklyn Boulders has other programs. One of its programs is yoga; they have classes every day. Also they run clinics for Parkour, a way of getting around by jumping over and flipping over everything, or how to eat healthily on a climbers diet. Also they have a shop that sells climbing shoes or drinks. They also have two lounges for work, play, or almost anything in between.
So come on out to Brooklyn Boulders in Somerville, Massachusetts. They’ve got nice employees, lots of walls, the best way of getting in shape, and lots more. And if you do it I’ll guarantee you’ll want to come again!
