Chicagoans gobble up new food concepts in an instant. If Chicago is a culinary gem, then it shows not in the large number of upscale, Michelin-star winning venues, but in the tried and true favorites that quickly establish themselves as city-wide classics. Consider the ubiquitous dominance of the worth-the-wait franks at the now-defunct Hot Doug’s or the gastronomically-indulgent burgers of Kuma’s Corner as prime examples of this quality.
Another culinary gem bright spot includes Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits. This Logan Square shop, first established more than four years ago, made a name for itself by doing what it ultimately does best – make really, really good food. Whether you’re indulging in a dense biscuit slathered with butter and seasonal jam or piling high a fork with gooey chicken pot pie or just sticking to the crispy, yet sweet candied bacon, there is bound to be something satisfying for even the most picky of palettes.
For the first in our HAUNTS series, our Marketing Manager Britt chose Bang Bang Pie & Biscuits and it was a no-brainer. Although she lives on the other side of the city in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood, she still makes the trek to Logan Square to pick up a favorite or two from her favorite pie shop.
And Bang Bang’s relationship extends well beyond our adoring staffers. Whether they are fueling our Beta visitors during Live, Work, Play, Repeat or offering morning munchies for our members during a monthly Breakfast Club, we wouldn’t be able to be the Brooklyn Boulders Chicago you know (and hopefully love) without their generous goods.
